Abstract

1. Focusing on the double meaning of conduct, i. e. execution and acting, we deliberately designate it as "performance". Execution and acting are asymmetrical each other. Whereas execution is just as it is, acting should not be as it is, for the latter is played as execution of conduct. Every performance actually consists of both aspects. 2. The performance places social and cultural matters (norms, customs, institutions, authorities etc.) somewhere between "reality" and "fiction". The fiction corresponds to the acting as contrasted with execution. It is acting that makes it appear as reality. 3. We interpret meta-message not only as instruction of decoding message, but also as having some contents in higher level than message. In general message is related with the intention of addresser, but meta-message does not always depend on his intention. This can be produced unconsciously and physically as well as consciously. 4. In educational conduct teacher is requested to take account of his unintentional meta-message as well as his own message to educand. In our time education may be demand to attend and form context which comprehends message and meta-message.
