Abstract

In recent times, landscape policy comes under the spotlight, because the landscape law was newly enacted by the Central Government in 2004. This paper intends to clarify the local residents' consciousness to the surrounding landscapes and their opinion to the landscape conservation in Higashi-Hiroshima City by employing a questionnaire survey method. Based on the results, we examined the landscape conservation and design issues. For promoting the landscape policy, the opportunity for learning and discussing on the landscape issues should be provided by the local authority (Highashi-Hiroshima).
