Abstract

On-line real-time traffic simulation systems have been installed to traffic control system for urban expressway. Traffic control and information provision for urban expressway user is putted into operation by referring to estimation result of traffic simulation. Serious traffic congestion is often caused by traffic accidents and obstacles on urban expressway. Therefore, the estimation with traffic simulation by the real time at a traffic accident is very important.<br>It aims at the estimate accuracy improvement of the real-time traffic flow simulator on the urban expressway in the study. The integrated traffic simulator with macroscopic flow model and microscopic flow model is constructed to estimate the traffic flow at a traffic accident adequately. The time series change of traffic flow at a traffic accident can be adequately estimated with the calculation processing for a short time.
