Abstract

A heavy rainstorm caused by baiu-front attacked Asakura City of Fukuoka Prefecture and Hita City of Oita Prefecture on July 5, 2017. In Asakura AMeDAS, the daily precipitation (July 5) and maximum 1 hour precipitation (July 5, 15:38) recorded 516.0 mm and 129.5 mm, respectively. In the river which flowed through the city, landslide disaster and flood disaster occurred by a heavy rain. That damage resulted in 39 dead persons, 289 buildings destroyed, 1,084 buildings partially destroyed and 1,879 buildings flooded in Fukuoka and Oita Prefectures.
