Abstract

The purpose of this study is to learn from the case study that has built up the theory and practices of formative assessment and to examine current and future assessments for learning. Formative assessment is more than just a form of assessment; it is an exploration into the following question. “How can we create good practices that enhance learning?" The author has observed good practices and interviewed teachers in Akita City and elsewhere about their learning based on these practices. Chikuzan Elementary School has been conducting collaborative research based on team-teaching for 56 years, and is proud of its achievements, which are documented in detailed records and published as
