Recent worm attacks are not driven anymore by the single technical-challenge that represents getting inside a system or brake into a well-known organization security systems. The aim of the present Thesis is to test the hypothesis that a Statistical Detection (SD) can be performed as a solution of the detection of the bot worm activity, in order to solve the problem of the update delay in the signature-based systems.
