Terpenes isolated from Chamaecyparis pisifera and their affect to Seiridium canker

Fourteen diterpenes (6 abietane-type, 1 pimarane-type, 2 pisifera-type, 3 labdane-type, and 1dinorlabdane-type) in the bark, 4 sesquiterpenes in the wood and 6 diterpenes (4 abietane-type and2 pisifera-type) in the leaf were isolated from Chamaecyparis pisifera. O-methyl pisiferolactone (6)and O-methyl pisiferanol (8) were new compounds. 14,15-Dinor-13-keto-8(17),11- labdadien-19-oic acid (14) was firstly isolated from C. pisifera. Seven diterpenes which controls the causal fungi ofSeiridium canker were found in the bark. C. pisifera seems to have a defense mechanism to a cankerbased on terpenes.
