Description and Table of Contents
Description
Plant ecology is the scientific study of the factors influencing the distribution and abundance of plants. This textbook aims to take a look at the subject, stressing the experimental approach to plant dynamics. The authors demonstrate how theoretical models, coupled with field and laboratory experimentation, can lead to insights into the functioning of plant communities, populations of individual species, and the dynamics of the growth and development of individual plants. The importance of interactions between plants and animals and between plants and soil organisms is stressed throughout.
