Bringing together, in a coherent body of work, state-of-the- art knowledge in the many engineering disciplines related to offshore construction, this book covers the conception, planning, preparation and execution of a wide variety of offshore structures while considering the impact of environmental conditions affecting projects, from tropical to arctic, coastal to deep sea, and recognizes ecological, political and social constraints as well as primary technical and economical requirements. Structures considered include offshore platforms in steel and concrete, submarine pipelines, ocean moorings, deep- water bridge piers and submerged templates.
