Description

This practical text provides a sound basis for analyzing a large number of electro-optical systems. Emphasis is on the analysis of electro-optical sensors and the characterization of the optical properties of the atmosphere. Fundamental material is presented in the early chapters with more specialized applications material presented in the later ones. The text begins with an overview of electro-optics and how it differs from related fields, and then goes on to discuss the fundamental concepts basic to all areas of electro-optics applications. Among the specific applications, areas discussed are detector rays and imaging tubes, electro-optical sensors, optical signal processing, and optical path characteristics.
