Description
This volume provides a comprehensive introduction to the techniques of electron diffraction and encourages their wider use by biologists. The book is an experimental guide to the methods for determining the structure of biological macromolecules from their characteristic electron diffraction patterns. In addition, the use of electron diffraction, in conjunction with image processing, to produce three-dimensional models of highly-ordered biological specimens is described, illustrating the ability of electron diffraction to make a unique contribution to the elucidation of molecular structure at the limit of the resolution of the electron microscope.
