Description
Written by international clinicians and pathologists with extensive experience in the field, this book is the first of its type to deal with the wide spectrum of inflammatory disorders of skeletal muscle including both infective myopathies and immunologically-mediated disorders such as polymyositis and dermatomyositis. While the approach is basically clinical, the pathology and pathogenesis of these conditions are also included. Also featured in the book are chapters devoted to immunological aspects of polymyositis and dermatomyositis and to viral and parasitic diseases.
