Description
Robert Beverly Hale was recognized as America's greatest teacher of figure drawing and artistic anatomy, and this book collects his famous lectures to his classes at the Art Students League of New York. The book explores each part of the human body: rib cage, pelvis, upper leg, knee, lower leg, foot, shoulder girdle, upper arm, lower arm, hand, neck, skull, and face. Each significant point in the text is illustrated by a masterpiece of figure drawing. Included are 118 examples by such masters as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Rubens, Durer, Raphael, Tiepolo and others.
