Description
Heart failure is a major cause of death and disability in the western world and its treatment using drugs and transplantation is one the most topical and active areas of medical research. This study covers common and rare causes of heart failure. The authors examine each condition in detail and photographs depict the pathology and investigation of patients suffering from the common and less common causes of cardiac symptoms such as breathlessness. Conditions covered include valvular heart disease, heart muscle disease, hypertension and congenital heart disease. By same authors: "A colour atlas of hypertension" and "A colour atlas of angina pectoris"
