内容説明
Of particular interest This book is about sensitive periods during neural and behavioral development. Truly interdisciplinary, it brings together the two fields dealing with behavioral notion of imprinting and the similar neural phenomenon of the sensitive period of visual development by directly showing some of their achievements side by side.are the articles on the neu roethology of auditory development in owls, sensitive periods of birdsong development, and neural visual development. Contributions in both sections emphasize the mechanisms that govern the neural and behavioral modifications observed in developmental plasticity, the role of experience, and the existence of sensitive periods in which growing organisms are peculiarly sensitive to certain stimuli to which they may be unresponsive at other times.
