Description

Endodontics, the branch of dentistry concerned with the conservation of roots of teeth, has undergone many changes in the last 30 years. This atlas is a pictorial survey of the present state of knowledge in endodontics showing step by step the stages of a variety of techniques. These include the preparation and filling of root canals, diagnosis, pathology and a range of subsidiary techniques including pulp capping, pulpotomy and surgical endodontics, treatment of deciduous teeth, fractured and luxated teeth, bleaching of discoloured teeth and restoration of crowns following endodontic treatment. Each technique and diagnostic step shown can be used as a basis for subsequent modifications. Current materials, instruments and techniques are illustrated and future trends are included.
