Description and Table of Contents
Description
Presented here are the results of a programme launched by SCOPE in 1978, which makes a global assessment of land transformation caused by agriculture. A number of case studies are incorporated which demonstrate particular aspects of problems which have been encountered. It begins with a historic appraisal of land transformation, and reviews current agricultural practices and their effects upon the land. The editors provide a review of the current situation and recommendations for further study.
