Description and Table of Contents
Description
This first volume deals with methods of labelling and some specific groups of labelled compounds. Planned subsequent volumes will concentrate on such classes of compounds as steroids and antibiotics, and on NMR aspects of isotopes.
Table of Contents
1. Nomenclature for labelled compounds (E. Buncel, J.R. Jones). 2. Radiation induced methods of labelling (C.T. Peng). 3. Photochemical methods of labelling (M. Yoshida, S. Nakayama). 4. Catalytic exchange methods of hydrogen isotope labelling (J.L. Garnett, M.A. Long). 5. Hydrogen isotope exchange of organic compounds in dilute acid at elevated temperatures (N.H. Werstiuk). 6. The preparation and characterization of tritiated neuro-chemicals (C.N. Filer). 7. Isotopically labelled benzodiazepines (A.A. Liebman). 8. Synthetic approaches to carbohydrates enriched with stable isotopes of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen (A.S. Serianni, R. Barker). 9. Preparation of radiolabelled lipids (V.P. Shevchenko, N.F. Myasoedov). 10. Isotopically labelled pyrimidines and purines (A.T. Balaban, I. Bally). 11. Synthesis of some labelled non-proteinogenic amino acids (P. Adriaens, H. Vanderhaeghe). 12. Radioactive peptide hormones (P. Fromageot, J.-L. Morgat). 13. The role of isotopes in the development of b-adrenoceptor blocking agents (J. Allen). Subject Index.
