Description

This volume examines the physiology of Fallopian tube function, the nature of tubal fluids and microenvironments, and the dynamic interactions occurring locally between the embryo, the Fallopian tube and the neighbouring ovary. A consideration of early pregnancy factors is also included. In terms of knowledge, apart from integrating and increasing our understanding of the function of the Fallopian tubes, this book suggests routes to: (a) Improving the success of in vitro fertilization and culture of newly-fertilized eggs, whereby the importance of microenvironments in vivo is highlighted. (b) Concentrating research on early pregnancy factors and the manner in which the embryo influences the maternal duct system and gonads.
