Description
CRC Handbook of MICROBIOLOGY fills the need for current com-prehensive information in the field of microbiology. Greatly ex-panded and revised, this edition is in a multi-volume format. It fur-nishes microbiologists and allied scientists with up-to-date data on the properties of microorganisms, their composition, products, and activities.
The first two volumes feature information on organismic microbiol-ogy and present data of taxonomic value on bacteria, fungi, algae, protozoa, and viruses. Other volumes cover amino acids and pro-teins, carbohydrates, lipids, nucleic acids, and minerals as they pertain to microbial composition. Information is given about other organisms for comparative purposes. Also presented are products of microorganisms, giving succinct information about antibiotics, enzymes, toxins, and a multitude of chemicals, as well as data per-taining to microbial metabolism, genetics, and immunology.
