Description and Table of Contents
Description
CRC Handbook of MICROBIOLOGY fills the need for current comprehensive information in the field of microbiology. Greatly expanded and revised, this edition is in a multi-volume format. It furnishes microbiologists and allied scientists with up-to-date data on the properties of microorganisms, their composition, products, and activities.
The first two volumes feature information on organismic microbiology and present data of taxonomic value on bacteria, fungi, algae, protozoa, and viruses. Other volumes cover amino acids and proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, nucleic acids, and minerals as they pertain to microbial composition. Information is given about other organisms for comparative purposes. Also presented are products of microorganisms, giving succinct information about antibiotics, enzymes, toxins, and a multitude of chemicals, as well as data pertaining to microbial metabolism, genetics, and immunology.
Table of Contents
