The main part of the narrative was probably written by Edward Winslow. Parts have been attributed to William Bradford. G. Mourt (George Mourt?) by whose name the relation is commonly known seems to have had no other connection with it than that of writing the preface and giving the book to the press. Cf. Young. Chronicles of the Pilgrims fathers. Boston, 1841, p. vii-viii: Mourt's relation. A journal of the Pilgrims at Plymouth. New York [1963] p. x-xv
