Description and Table of Contents
Description
Epilepsy is the most common neurological problem in adolescence usually with serious consequences for this most critical period of development. Most of the problems encountered are caused as a result of lack of contact with the centres specializing in the study of epilepsy and its management. Therefore, many well-known authorities have produced this current state-of-the-art volume which considers all aspects of the disease in young people. Topics progress from the epidemiology, new areas of study, the latest therapies and the use of drugs - cognitive function and behaviour, the implications of drug treatment and drug withdrawal. To complete the picture, attention is drawn to the psychosocial problems.
