Description

The turbulent 1970s and 80s have seen important developments in the area of money and banking. Most of these are discussed here while four issues are treated at some greater length. These are financial innovations; the EMS and international monetary systems; certain issues in montary policy arising from recent developments in monetary economics, such as monetary policy in an interdependent world and liquidity constraints and monetary policy; and monetary problems of developing countries. The unifying theme of the book, however, is its concern with financial innovations, which receive special atention. Philip Arestis is author of "Introducing Macroeconomics Modelling - An Econometric Study of the UK ".
