Description and Table of Contents
Description
Using a variety of real examples, this text considers the underlying principles of organic chemistry. Nomenclature, synthesis, C-C band formation and stereochemistry are covered and the particular values of the commonly used index routes to the chemical literature are explained and illustrated. Methods for investigation of reaction mechanisms are discussed, as well as spectroscopy and structure, temperature, pressure and solvents, and phase effects. Each chapter includes a selection of challenging problems, with references to the literature.
