内容説明

Designed to assist multinational companies in developing effective, comprehensive plans for overseas operations, this book details the crucial operating and strategic issues that must be anticipated by companies planning to set up operations in foreign countries, as well as those who already have. Among the considerations discussed are the location of R&D and production facilities, expansion or withdrawal of capacity, level of permissible imports and required exports, and transfer pricing policy. The book also demonstrates three approaches - the assertive, the diffuse and the structured - that companies can use in negotiating with and influencing host governments, outlining the most appropriate approach to take in light of the demands made by a particular government and the social and political context of the prospect country. The book is based on extensive research of the strategies and behaviour patterns adopted by 13 large multinational companies, including IBM, Ford and others.
