The author promotes the idea of taking management and organizational cues from scientific concepts that have already reshaped the world, concepts that have fed technology and given rise to businesses unimaginable only a generation ago. He envisages that the value added in the new economy increasingly will be from intangibles. Knowledge will be the infinitely renewable resource. Networks will replace hierarchies in organizations and "Just In Time" manufacturing and international alliances will help fuel the "hollow corporation'. Mass customization will be the key to markets.
