The pundits predicted that the introduction of the personal computer would bring about the "paperless" office. In actual fact computer technology has developed to such a degree that the user of the PC is now in a position to produce paper-based documents using desktop publishing. It is now predicted that most, if not all organizations in which a PC is housed will be using one of the desktop publishing systems before the end of the decade.
