Description and Table of Contents

Description

Arranged in alphabetical order, this is a reference guide to fashion details and decorative effects and illustrates some of the ways in which style features such as pleats, tucks, piping, pockets and collars may be used in the design of a garment for a man, woman or child. The drawing techniques are described and vary from line diagrams showing the developments of the use of a design detail to a variety of fashion sketches using line and tone values to show textures and patterns. Figure grids are also provided for those who may have difficulties in drawing the human figure. The author is a visiting lecturer at the London College of Fashion and at other schools throughout Great Britain and in Europe. He is also a freelance fashion designer and illustrator and has written "Basic Fashion Design Drawing", "Drawing and Designing Children's and Teenage Fashions", "Fashion Drawing for Advertising" and "Fashion Drawing and Presentation".
