内容説明

There has been a rapid increase in the amount of research and interest in toxicology in the last few years. Research, education and legal regulations have all undergone significant changes regarding toxicology. This dictionary aims to give clear and accurate information for people working in this field and in the areas that impinge on it, such as pharmacology, water treatment, medicine and law. The dictionary describes all those terms commonly used in toxicology and covers also compounds and groups of compounds (eg. source of compound, side effects produced and effects on an organ and mechanism of action); measurement of toxicity, diagnosis and treatment, (eg. antidotes and their mechanism of action); environmental issues (eg. pesticides and ecosystems); and international regulations. The entries are listed alphabetically.
