内容説明

This volume contains some of the most significant findings of leading researchers in the new and developing field of geolinguistics. The book presents evidence of the principal relationships in the study of language and territory, namely the social context of linguistic communities, the principles and methods of geolinguistic and the translation of these principles into government action and policy in multilingual societies. Well documented and illustrated case study material is derived from Western societies, including Scandinavia, the Celtic realm, France and Canada. The volume concludes with a research agenda for future research work and a call for the greater integration of geographic approaches and linguistic analysis.
