Description and Table of Contents
Description
The revised edition of this established text has been updated to reflect the impact which molecular biology is having on immunology. Hardly a month passes without the DNA or amino-acid sequence of an important molecule being announced, notably in the field of mediators and receptors. So much new information has already emerged on receptors, that the book has had two new sections devoted to them. A separate section on idiotypes and networks has also been included. The British Journal of Hospital Medicine said of the third edition,"This is an unusual book that presents a review of immunology in the form of diagrams with accompanying short notes. In this way the author succeeds in compressing much information into a short space, in a manner that makes it easy to retain in the memory. The book is strongly recommended to all who are interested in immunology". Students will find considerable advantage in using this book as a supplement to their lectures, while workers in other fields of science or medicine will appreciate its concise and lucid explanations.
