内容説明
The Sei Whale is the third largest of the great whales, after the blue and fin whales and can be found in all oceans. It has been hunted since the mid-nineteenth century and is still caught around Iceland. Over the last two centuries, but particularly over the last decade there has been much public concern over the management and conservation of all whales. This book provides a comprehensive description of the Sei Whale, focusing particularly on its population biology and the implications of this for management. Comprehensive data is presented on its distribution, ecology, reproduction, mortality, abundance and exploitation. The book therefore represents an important reference for cetacean biologists and other zoologists, marine scientists, managers and administrators and conservationists with an interest in whales. This book should be of interest to cetacean biologists and other zoologists, marine scientists, managers and administrators and conservationists with an interest in whales.
