Description
These studies cover topics from income inequality in the USSR to risk-taking in Yugoslav self-managed enterprises. They aim to provide fresh perspectives on economic processes in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe and are presented with reference to related Western experience. Of particular note is Bergson's comparative exploration of differences in output per worker in four socialist countries - the USSR, Yugoslavia, Hungary and Poland - and seven Western mixed economies. They are directed towards postgraduate students and researchers in Soviet and East European studies and comparative economics.
