内容説明
This book discusses, in relation to the biochemistry of metastatic disease, the phenomenon of recognition at the molecular level, which leads to communication within and between cells. The contributions emphasise various aspects of cancer that can be traced to changes in the cell surface. They describe the basic biology of cancer and treatment for the disease in terms of tumour-specific aberration, and the target which this presents to an agent of the immune system, to a growth factor, or to an exogenously supplied drug. The receptors and ligands are becoming well characterised and the authors have all played prominent roles in this field. The biochemistry of ligand-receptor action is of fundamental theoretical and practical importance: this volume brings together for biochemists, immunologists and research workers in cancer essential aspects of the subject.
