Description
This study conveys the proceedings of a Satellite Symposium of the 9th IUPHAR congress in 1987 of the same title. The work reviews three main areas concerning the actions and significance of dopamine in the periphery, discussing the current state of research: sources and effects of endogenous dopamine; the classification and distribution of, and the effects of activating, various populations of peripheral dopamine receptions; and the therapeutic significance of dopamine receptor activation in cardiovascular and renal disease.
