Description

This book examines the concept of "colonial nationalism " in the context of the Edwardian era - including the Anglo-Irish relationship. Based on the writings of the young Edwardian traveller, Richard Jebb, this book brings together a list of historians to explore the first assertions of a sense of nationalism by Australia, New Zealand, Canada and South Africa. It then follows the travels of Richard Jebb, providing accounts of the history and emergence of national consciousness in each new nation.
