Description

The Handbook of Polycyclic Hydrocarbons brings together all known benzenoids and their polycyclic isomers and heteroatom analogs and organize them into isomer and isoskeletal groups according to a formula periodic table which is based on graph theoretical principles. A comparison is made of the number of isomers synthesized or identified in the environment versus the number of theoretical isomers, thus providing an overview of the field of polycyclic hydrocarbons. The unique feature of the approach used is that it allows easy comparison of molecules that are topologically and graph-theoretically related, many of which are environmental pollutants.
