Description and Table of Contents

Description

Leading researchers active in marine heat flow have contributed to this reference on current tectonic problems being addressed by marine geothermal research and on current techniques and instru-mentation. This easy-to-read handbook discusses the tectonic problems and new techniques by making reference to specific geo-graphical localities such as the Mediterranean, the Arctic, and the western Pacific. This volume contains two appendices which are invaluable to researchers in this field. Appendix A is a bibliography of all references relevant to marine heat flow published since 1965. This list, containing about six hundred publications, is arranged alphabetically and includes a cross-reference to Appendix B for those publications that contain heat flow measurements. Appendix B, containing heat flow measurements made since 1965, is presented in the format of the World Wide Data centre and will assist in compilation of heat flow in specific geographic regions.
