Description and Table of Contents
Description
This volume examines how the different processes of development are integrated into the whole life cycle of a bryophyte and shows how an exact determination of external actors can reveal the key to the understanding of the internal regulation of developmental processes. The book also correlates bryophyte development to the regulation and growth of plants in general. Each step in the development of abryophyte is described: germination of spore, formation and growth of gemmae, protonema differentiation, regeneration, gametangia production and pathways in the life cycle, including sporophyte development.
