Description and Table of Contents
Description
The aim of this series is to provide a common ground between obstetricians and paediatricians, and to describe current practice in a way that is useful and relevant to both groups. Individual volumes in the series represent the collected opinions of recognised authorities on various aspects of perinatology, and this fifth volume discusses the early phases of human development both in utero and in the neonatal period. The book describes the ways in which genetic endowment and fetal environment influence growth, and reviews the vascular, neuroendocrine, paracrine, endocrine, enzyme and other systems which mediate the development of the organs of the embryo and tissues of the fetus.
