内容説明

This is the second volume covering the papers presented at this biennial conference. As with the last volume, a topic has been chosen and speakers invited to talk with specific reference to this particular growth area. The focus of this volume is on the analysis of peptides and proteins. With the development of new ionization methods and expanded capabilities for the analysis of high mass compounds, mass spectrometry is becoming an essential and more widely used method in the arsenal of techniques used to characterize the primary structure of peptides and proteins. The topics covered in this book include instrumentation developments, quantitation, enzyme kinetics, sequence analysis by instrumental/enzymatic approaches and applications in the pharmaceutical, medical and research laboratories. The current problems in protein research and the role of mass spectrometry in relation to other methods of protein analysis are also included.
