Description
An examination of two of Pinter's most frequently performed and studied plays. It attempts to provide a full account of the playwright's life and explores the themes of vulnerability, dominance and subservience, friendship and betrayal. The effect of post-war Britain, Pinter's early interviews and lectures are examined and the first and later screen and stage productions of each play are highlighted, including the 1987 BBC production of "The Birthday Party".
