Description

In the last ten years methods used for imaging the prostate have advanced considerably. This work charts the progress in the field of prostatic ultrasound as the technology evolved from the first bistable manual equipment up to the most recent prototypes of "multiplane" transrectal probes. All examination techniques are covered, including ultrasound guided biopsy, and the functions of various sonographic equipment. The book's emphasis is on diagnosis, staging and assessment of response to treatment of prostatic carcinoma.
