Description and Table of Contents

Description

The perception, prediction, early recognition and identification of risk in pregnancy form the subject of this book, which describes the practical skills required to assess risk factors and to counsel, educate and support prospective parents in potentially high-risk situations. The implications of certain factors or conditions which involve risk are discussed, as well as the adjustments which can be made to conventional management. Practical details such as how to collect, record and analyse data and how to allocate resources are described. The authors maintain that such methods result in a better standard of management than traditional approaches which are usually disease-oriented and are designed to deal with problems after they have occurred.
