Part of a two volume work which constitutes a general study on plant anatomy, this book completes the presentation of the types of data on which the vegetation organs of the dicotyledons is based. The topics covered by the text include wood anatomy, anomalous structure, ecological anatomy and morphology and anatomy in relation to taxonomy and phylogeny. A survey of secreted substances and secretory organs leads on to a brief survey of the related subject of chemotaxonomy. A revised version of Takhatjan's taxonomic systems for the dicotyledons is also included.
