This is an introduction to the fundamental sociological concepts involved within the area of knowledge. It is designed to cover the requirements of A level sociology syllabuses and first year sociology undergraduates. Each book contains a selection of readings and documentary extracts, including statistical and quantitative data where relevant, as well as textual analysis. The issues dealt with include the "social construction of reality" and ideology, concentrating on the main areas of sociology that relate in particular to knowledge - religion, education and science.
