内容説明

The relationship between United States and Iran prior to the 1979 revolution is examined, specifically from 1946-51, when official attitudes seemed to display little understanding or knowledge of people and developments outside the narrow court circle in Tehran. This book aims to explain how the relationship established itself throughout this period and events which forced the United States to adopt a more active policy by 1951, provides an historical account of political strategies and explains why America supported the Shah. The author argues that a misguided American policy of ignorance and anticommunist ideology has helped to create recent problems.
