内容説明
Long before eating disorders were so widespread and "fashionable", psychoanalysts were observing anorexia nervosa. From as early as 1889, when Freud wrote to Fliess about the "anorexia nervosa of girls", the disorder has been reinterpreted along the lines of each new development in psychoanalytic thought. This work developed as a special issue of the Journal of the American Academy of Psychoanalysis, continues with the field's ground?breaking tradition in this area. Bringing psychoanalytic thought up?to?date, the volume features articles by clinicians recognized as having made significant contributions to the treatment and understanding of these perplexing disorders. They cover a wide array of topics that capture the full variety of types of patients and issues that arise in treatment. As such, this volume will be of value to the many practitioners who are encountering an increasing number of patients with eating disorders, and to the researchers who are seeking to understand them.
