Description
The First International Symposium on Allergy and Molecular Biology, sponsored by the Diagnostic Products Corporation, took place in California, April 1988. The state-of-the-art technology in allergy research was discussed and the stage was set for future developments in allergy testing, diagnosis and treatment. Advances in molecular biology and immunology are now being utilized to elucidate the nature of allergy and its clinical manifestations at the molecular level. This will ultimately provide the scientific basis for the effective therapeutic treatment and management of allergenic conditions. The text is divided into sessions based on the organization of the Symposium. Each session is supported by tables, diagrams, photographs and a concluding discussion section.
